Job Description
We are currently working with a global scientific organisation focused
on the research and development industries. They are embarking on an ambitious
growth strategy which will allow development to those joining now.
We are
looking for an account manager focused on the rest of the world (excluding the
US and China markets)
You will
be offering solutions to organisations that are in the process of developing
groundbreaking innovations in the likes of aerospace/defence, medical
technology, automotive and aviation and many other industries.
The role
will include international travel to exhibitions and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new contacts, leads and opportunities within the territory & customers base
- Customer enquiry and opportunity management
- Develop and manage sales with current and new customer
- Proactively identify and respond to potential sales, purchasing or marketing opportunities.
- Work closely with the Technical Support group to develop opportunities
- Grow territory & customers revenue while maintaining or increasing average margin percentages
- Manage the enquiry processing for bespoke products
- Enquiry queue management for their territory and customers
- Manage customer portfolio ensuring database is accurate and up to date
- Participate in Phone days/Marketing days/ Campaigns to retain/regain lost customers

Education/Experience
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree or higher in a scientific discipline (engineering,
physics, chemistry, etc.) and some direct sales experience OR a proven track
record in the sales arena, selling into our clients’ industries, would be an
advantage
- A good
standard of written and spoken communication skills is required
- Developing, influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills both with
internal and external partners
- Experience in visiting customers in a sales capacity. Willingness to visit
customers across their designated territory
- Ability
to drive communication and collaboration across a team as well as an ability to
work on own initiative
- Creative and results-driven
- Ability to extract and analyse data, experience using CRM systems,
understanding of customer activity patterns and purchasing trends
- Well-organized with a customer-oriented approach
- Excellent presentation skills including writing and editing PowerPoint
- We
will also consider someone without a degree or sales experience if they can
demonstrate their desire to succeed, and have a passion for delivering sales and
excellent customer service
